About this list

Most chess teaching in Buenos Aires happens inside clubs. Several círculos teach alongside their tournaments, and football clubs such as Huracán, Nueva Chicago, Lanús and Independiente list chess among their sports, most of them with a fee on the activities page. Two private schools in Palermo, El Caballito de Palermo and Peón al Paso, teach children and adults in groups, in person or online, and Peón al Paso also gives individual lessons.

The partidos around the city add municipal schools. Vicente López's Escuela Municipal Fray Ruy López de Sigura teaches from Monday to Friday at Laprida 3837 in Villa Martelli and takes pupils from five years old; Tigre and San Isidro run municipal schools across several neighbourhood venues, Quilmes holds chess at a primary school on weekday evenings, and Hurlingham's classes were last reported in November 2024. Enrolment rules are on each entry.

Further south and west, clubs in Lomas de Zamora and General San Martín offer group lessons next to their own tournaments, and in Ramos Mejía the Ajelam school works out of the Estudiantil Porteño sports club, where the western Greater Buenos Aires circuits also stop.
