Blitz tournaments in Buenos Aires 17

Blitz, with a few minutes on each clock, is the quickest way into tournament chess in Buenos Aires, and most of it is rated. The BA Chess Blitz DGT Grand Prix holds a monthly event, Torre Blanca in Almagro plays rated blitz and rapid several times a month, the YMCA branch on Reconquista in Microcentro hosts a blitz for players under 2200, and Mariano Moreno in Coghlan keeps a blitz for the second Saturday of the month.

Many longer tournaments add a blitz on the side: the PRO-AM International Open in Vicente López, the Open Ciudad de Buenos Aires, the Ventajedrez summer tournaments in January and the national senior championships all have one. Generación Z holds blitz and rapid events each February, and BA Chess runs title events at both speeds. Time controls, where a page gives them, are on each entry.
